What Am I Actually Doing??
So, I wanted to explain a little bit about my plan for when I am in Malawi, and why I am going. I will be going as part of an internship for BYU working with NuSkin. They own a Non-Government Organization (NGO) called the School of Agriculture for Family Independence (SAFI). For my internship, I get to do research on whatever I wanted (and then was further approved by NuSkin). I will be doing two different research projects: 1) studying the social atmosphere around family planning (aka birth control), and 2) evaluating and assessing the nursery school (aka preschool) at SAFI and meeting with parents and teachers to see what improvements can be made, because improvements can always be made everywhere! Oh, plus I'll be traveling and seeing so many amazing sights and falling in love with the culture and people....
There have been so many miracles that have happened that have led me to this point. I am so thankful for a Heavenly Father who directs our lives and guides us to what will make us the best people we can be. This trip will help me learn and grow so much in life and I can't wait to leave!!
PS, if you don't/didn't actually know where Malawi was when I told you I was going there, don't worry most people don't ;) The learning curve will be great with this trip, and I hope to help you guys learn some things as well!
Fun Fact of the Week: Most of the vibrant colored fish you see in big tanks or aquariums come from Lake Malawi (which borders Malawi, oh, and did I mention I'll get to snorkel there lots?). Lake Malawi has some of the most vibrant colored fish in the whole world!
